I guess it would have been better to post this recipe earlier. But I couldn’t make it, sorry about that. And… You don’t need to make this dessert on Valentine’s Day. We should celebrate love every day, right? Sharing these delicious cakes is a great way to do that. ;)
Ingredients:
6 eggs, 8 tablespoons flour (sifted), 6 tablespoons sugar, 4 tablespoons (¼ cup) butter;
2 cups sweet cream, ¾ cup (100 grams) dark chocolate;
1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 3 or 4 handfuls berries (I used strawberries and blueberries.)
Instructions:
First beat the egg whites to the soft peak stage. Then, while beating, add the yolks first, sugar second, (4TBS) melted butter third and finally the flour. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 190 degrees C (375 degrees F) for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. While still warm, cut out circles with a cookie cutter (or other round object). I used a little bigger cookie cutter and I made 6 of them – three for each cake.
Combine the chocolate and sweet cream and cook together until chocolate is completely melted. Let it cool. This should actually be prepared a few hours before. Then whisk it and spread it on first layer of each cake, cover with another one and repeat the same for the next two layers. There is cream on top, too. Place the cakes in the fridge for an hour or more.
Before serving, place a tablespoon of butter, berries and sugar in a pot, bring to boil and let boil for about 5 minutes – stirring occasionally. Pour the berry sauce over both cakes. Garnish as you wish.
Enjoy!!
