Walnut and Maple Syrup Chocolate Balls

The recipe I’m posting today is something I tried last weekend: a super simple no bake recipe with just a few ingredients. And it is kind of healthy. I think it’s great for when the weather gets colder…

Ingredients (for about 40 balls): 2 cups ground walnuts, ½ cup maple syrup, 1 cup (about 200g) dark chocolate, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon milk and – optional – chopped hazelnuts, other nuts of your choice or sprinkles for decoration.

Instructions: In a bowl mix together ground walnuts and maple syrup until well combined. With wet hands, form the mixture into balls (the size of walnuts) and place on a tray.

Melt the chocolate, butter and milk together in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from the heat and roll each ball in the melted chocolate until covered. Then – optional – roll the balls in the chosen topping(s). Put them in the fridge. They should be ready to eat within about an hour or two.

I hope you’ll enjoy them, if you end up trying the recipe.

10 Minute DIY: Coffee Stain Art

I’m a huge fan of coffee and am one of those people that drink two or three cups every day. I ignore anyone who tries to tell me this is unhealthy. I don’t agree with that. And for the love of coffee, I decided to make a coffee stain wall art for one of our walls. Here is my 10 minute DIY tutorial on how to make your own.

You’ll need: a plate of very strong coffee (about two cups of coffee in a plate), one bigger coffee mug, one smaller paintbrush (optional), a piece of washi tape, a pen/marker and a canvas.

Take your mug, flip it upside-down and dip it slowly (because you don’t want to cause a mess) into the coffee. Carefully place the mug to where you want to make the coffee stain on canvas and leave it for a minute or two. Carefully remove the mug. Now take the paintbrush, dip it into the coffee and add a small coffee smudge on one side of the stain (this is optional). Leave it to dry for about 20 minutes. Take a piece of washi tape and a pen and write down a short quote or message about coffee. Now just place the tape on the canvas (where you want it).

So, what about you… Do you love coffee?

See Ya, Summer! Welcome, Fall!

Fall is officially here, which breaks my heart a little because this summer has been wonderful. On the other hand, it is nice witnessing all these changes that make fall beautiful. So beautiful. You can be sure there will be fall pictures on my blog in a little while. Not just pictures, but also fall recipes, clothes, DIY projects. But for now, here are some pictures I snapped with my camera or phone in the last few weeks. Some are coming with some kind of explanation, the other with none. I hope your summer has been nice, too. Let the fall begin!!
